Investigate Killings in Kogi Communities, Steel Minister Appeals to IGP, Governor

The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has called for investigations into the recent killings in two communities: Abejukolo and Agojeju Odo, in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Prince Audu in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji, appealed to the Inspector General of Police to take swift action in investigating the crime so that the perpetrators could be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

According to Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, “I want to appeal to the Inspector General of Police to take swift action in investigating this crime so that the perpetrators of the heinous crime could be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Minister noted that it was very important to resolve all issues that led to the unfortunate incident so that peace and normalcy could return to the communities.

Expressing his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased who were killed in the most gruesome manner, Audu , appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Governor Usman Ododo, to enhance security in the communities of the state and intervene in any dispute that must have led to the incident

“I condemn in strong terms the recent killings in Agojeju Odo, and Abejukolo communities of Kogi East, which left over 19 people dead. This is unacceptable and will not be allowed to continue.

“My heartfelt condolences also go to the families of those who were killed in the most cruel manner. I also commiserate with the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, at such a sad moment.

“I also urge everyone to remain vigilant, security conscious, and collaborate with the security agencies and personnel. Report any suspicious moves you see around, as this might help prevent such atrocities,” Prince Audu stated.
